Michelle Valentino, RN, BSN, joined Moscarino & Treu as a Nurse Paralegal in January of 2017, having previously worked for the firm from January 2014 until June 2015. Michelle was valedictorian of her high school class at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, graduated from Walsh University in 1999 with an Associate of Science in Nursing degree and summa cum laude in her BS in Nursing program in 1999, and has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years. Michelle spent eleven of those years working as a legal nurse and nine in the clinical arena. As a clinical nurse, she worked in a variety of areas and settings, including behavioral medicine, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and subacute/long-term care nursing. Her clinical nursing roles were varied and included direct patient care, staff supervision, and staff education. After transitioning into a legal nurse career, Michelle worked for both major law firms and litigation support companies. In that time, she has gained a considerable amount of experience supporting the defense of cases involving medical malpractice, pharmaceutical, and product liability claims.
Within the legal field, Michelle is most proud of her ability to translate past nursing clinical experiences into a successful career as a legal nurse. She is proud to be working with a group of very intelligent and hardworking people who make communication and staff development a priority. In working with M&T, Michelle has learned that working closely with the attorneys is extremely beneficial to her success and the success of a case, because she is able to gain additional legal insights which serve to strengthen her own work and involvement in the intricacies of each case. Michelle’s goal going forward is to continue working for M&T on a long-term basis while continuing to learn and grow in such a dynamic profession. Outside of legal work, Michelle finds fulfillment in spending time with her husband and young daughter as well as in her creative writing endeavors and anything involving the beauty of nature.
