Kris Treu

PARTNER

A founding partner in the law firm, Kris began his career with the Litigation Department of the Cleveland office of Arter & Hadden in 1983. Over the years, Kris’ practice has focused on representation of medical care providers, product manufacturers, legal professionals, pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions and commercial entities in litigation matters. This has included the handling of business disputes concerning employment, non-compete breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duties. Kris has successfully defended numerous catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases and continues to represent clients in arbitrations, mediations and trials around the State of Ohio. He is also a frequent lecturer around the state on civil litigation topics.

A member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute, Kris is also a Barrister in the Manos Inn of Court and a Sergeant in the Court of Nisi Prius. Kris is also admitted to practice in the State of Maine and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

A native Clevelander, Kris obtained his undergraduate degree with honors from Dartmouth College in 1980.  He then obtained his J.D. from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1983 where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review.

Outside the office, Kris enjoys performing with various musical groups, most notably “The No Name Band,” a group of Cleveland lawyers who perform music “of the 60’s, 70’s and beyond” for charitable events in Northeast Ohio.  Additionally, Kris enjoys coaching various sports, playing golf, and announcing halftime shows for the Kenston High School Marching Band.

“The client’s goal is paramount.  How do we get there as effectively and efficiently as possible?  These are the questions that drive our practice.”
